Description
CRAFT Oats Rolled 1 x 25kg
Oats are made from the whole grain of the oat plant.
The outer shell is removed from the kernels, then treated and commonly rolled or crushed into oatmeal.
For home use such as making oats porridge, oats are often rolled flat to make them quicker to cook.
Oats is high in carbohydrates, protein, dietary fiber and contains fat.
Rolled oats (traditional oats) are oat groats that have been steamed and flattened.
Rolled oats have a milder flavor and softer texture and take much less time to make than steel-cut oats, as they have been partially cooked.
Quick oats, instant oats, quick cooker oats or quick-cooking oats are rolled oats that go through further processing to decrease cooking time.
The oats are partially cooked by steaming and then rolled even thinner than old-fashioned/traditional oats.
Quick cooker oats cook within a few minutes and have a mild flavor and softer texture.
General Preparation Instructions:
Rolled Oats: Add oats to boiling water (±1 cup oats to 2 cups of water). Stir occasionally while simmering for 5-7 minutes.
Quick Oats: Add oats to boiling water (±1 cup oats to 2 cups of water). Stir while simmering for 1-2 minutes.
Ratios and time will vary depending on the batch size and required porridge thickness.
