MONATI Super Mabela Sorghum Meal 10kg
Mabela and also known as sorghum porridge, Mabele thoro, Amazinba and Amabele is a traditional South African dish made from pure-grain sorghum.
Sorghum is naturally high in dietary fibre, low in fat, low in saturated fat, and very low in sodium.
Monati Mabela is a source of 12 vitamins and 4 minerals.
“Maltabella” porridge was officially discontinued by Bokomo in November 2024.
General Preparation Instructions:
Mix sorghum meal with cold water to form a slurry.
Add the mabela slurry to boiling water (±2 cups water to 1 cup sorghum meal).
Simmer for ±25-30 minutes and stir intermittently.
Ratios and time will vary depending on the type of sorghum meal porridge (mabela) made.
Serve as a breakfast porridge or as a side dish with savoury meals. Can also be used for baking.
